From going with your club on a chilled Friday morning ride, to organizing a charity event or welcoming new riders to the Harley® community, UAE riders are known for their camaraderie; it’s what makes the UAE riding scene so unique. Our customers here in HD-NE often show us their Harley® family spirit when they participate in our events, support the efforts of other clubs or Government initiatives such as ‘Love of Zayed’.
This spirit was very much in evidence earlier this week when the entire community came together to help Harley-Davidson® Northern Emirates win the MENA regional award in ‘Battle of the Kings’ with our first entry, ‘Liquid Gold’ and its unexpected twist on a classic Bobber theme. Now ‘Liquid Gold’ will progress to the finals of the world’s largest customisation event of its kind this autumn, from where we hope to bring the trophy home to the UAE.
Sean Linton, Team Manager for the project said:
“As the ‘new kids on the block’ we are very proud to represent the UAE in Europe, and thank each of you for your support, encouragement and votes. We are delighted that the UAE biker community got behind us to demonstrate such a deep affection for the Harley® brand and our dealership. ‘Liquid Gold’ is a tribute to the generations of Harley® owners who’ve dedicated themselves to expressing their individuality through their bikes. Our entry was designed by World Custom Champion Omar Al Tamimi and realized by Master Technicians Brandon Thomas and Kannan Veeran.”
During a special Battle of the Kings event held in the dealership at the start of the voting process, we revealed a customised 2018 Street Bob that blends an ageless stripped back look with new age styling. An old school take on cutting edge MY18 technology, geometry and design; riders commented that our entry is a true riders’ bike, with its raised tank and distressed black sprung seat that places you low, within the engine, bringing man and machine together.
Other voters praised the antique gold leaf finish of the tank and fenders accentuated by hand painted volcanic red pinstripes while for some the continuation of the liquid gold theme with 24k gold plating on the levers, handle bar, hubs, spokes, exhaust and engine components was what persuaded them to get behind our first ever entry.
Ultimately, UAE riders and visitors enjoyed the fiery uniqueness of ‘Liquid Gold’. They believe as we do that the trophy belongs in the UAE where we are proud supporters of our Harley® Family. To each of you we say is ‘Thank you’ and ‘Watch this space’ for updates on the competition final.
